To Find My Old Blog

As you can see, my new blog is located neatly within my webpage. However, I have been blogging since 2009. If you would like to visit my old blog please click on this link.

New Classes Starting in July!

I am adding 2 new classes to my teaching schedule starting on Monday June 30. Classes will be held from 1:30-3:30pm and 6-8pm on Mondays and 9:30-11:30am and 6-8pm on Tuesdays. Choose the day and time that best fits your schedule.

My classes offer a small, supportive environment designed for beginners and advanced students alike. Most of your materials are included in one low price so that you can try out something new without having to purchase expensive art supplies. I offer instruction in both realism and abstraction, and allow you to choose what you want to focus on, including pencil, colored pencil, pastel, water color, acrylics, and mixed media.

Visit my Art Instruction page for information about price and how to sign up.

Life After Retirement

I am retiring from the Randolph County Public Schools after 25 years of teaching art. I am excited, sad and hopeful. I will miss my high school students, but look forward to more time in the studio and teaching my private students.

I will be offering 2 new classes starting on Monday, June 30 at 1:30 pm – 3:30 pm and Tuesday, July 1 at 9:30 am – 11:30 am. Each student works on their personal artistic interests, whether it is drawing, watercolor, acrylic painting, pastel or mixed media. Realism, abstraction and non-objective work can be experienced.

This is in addition to my current classes on Monday and Tuesday evenings from 6-8 pm. Here are some of my current students and their work. I am so proud of them!

Best News I Just Received!

“Acrylic Artist” magazine published by FW Media has featured one of my paintings in their summer 2014 issue. It is in an article titled, “The Acrylic Spirit, Discover 15 artists whose creative practices will help you unleash a sense of adventure and embolden your art.” I am on page 106. This was a complete surprise, but really made my day, no wait, my week. Maybe my month. WOW, can you tell I’m excited?!!
